DIGITAL HUMANITIES AND CULTURAL HERITAGE: WHAT’S THE REPORT?
The Associazione per l’Informatica Umanistica e la Cultura Digitale (AIUCD), founded in Florence in 2011, involves different discipline areas, including cultural institutions such as archives, libraries and museums.
AIUCD focuses on theoretical and methodological reflections, scientific collaboration and the development of practices, resources and shared tools in the field of humanities and in the use of digital applications in humanities.
The fourth annual conference, organised in collaboration with the MeDiHum Interdepartmental Centre of the University of Turin, included the participation of Tiziana Possemato (@CULT) and Stefano Casati (Museo Galileo), with the topic: “Esperienze di adozione di principi e metodi del web semantico e dei Linked Open Data nella ricerca” (Experiences of adoption of the principles and methods of the web semantic and Linked Open Data in research).
On this occasion, the evolution of the MINERV@ project was also presented; the proposal of setting up a thematic “pole” for scientific museology through the creation of a semantically integrated knowledge base, consisting of the knowledge bases of similar institutions converted according to the principles of linked open data.
