REACTION AND RESEARCH DATA IN THE DIGITAL AGE
Libraries today is a monthly magazine of professional information that will appeal to librarians and the library world.
It investigates through articles, essays, surveys and reports all aspects concerning the management and development of libraries in the modern information society, as well as the transformation of services induced by new technologies.
In the November issue is the article: “Creazione e ricerca dei dati nell’era digitale” (Creating and researching data in the digital age) written by Prof. Mauro Guerrini (University of Florence) and Tiziana Possemato (Director at @CULT).
The reflections in it involve:
- library data in the web semantic
- Metadata from the significant data
- Bibliographic record vs. RDF
- New cataloguing and linked data models
- BIBFRAME
- Integrated Library System (ILS) for the next generation
As part of the evolution of ILS, we speak about our OLISuite and, specifically, the WeCat module; a software that, while still using the recording in MARC 21, allows you to structure your data according to RDA, a mode oriented towards linked open data.
